Be part of the solution and make a difference
PAPAA has developed a new way to help people find clear, trusted information about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
The new AI-assisted search will been launched on Monday 24th August 2026 and allows visitors to ask questions in their own words. It provides a short, plain-English summary using information from PAPAA.org and direct users to the relevant pages for further reading.
The development of the AI-assisted search has been made possible through a grant from the British Association of Dermatologists. PAPAA is grateful for its support in helping the charity make reliable health information easier to find and use.
PAPAA has always aimed to provide reliable, independent information for people affected by psoriatic disease. However, finding the right information at the right time can be difficult, particularly when someone is newly diagnosed, experiencing a flare, considering treatment or preparing for an appointment.
The new search is intended to make PAPAA’s existing information easier to use.
It is important to note that this is not a diagnostic service. The search does not look across the wider internet, access NHS records, diagnose conditions or recommend treatment. It cannot replace advice from a doctor, nurse, pharmacist or other healthcare professional.
The tool will only use information published on PAPAA.org. Users will be directed back to the original PAPAA pages so they can read the full information and understand the context.
PAPAA will keep full editorial control of the information used by the service. The charity will monitor how the search works, review feedback and update content where needed. Users should not include personal, identifiable or detailed medical information in their questions.
This is the first stage of a wider development programme to make PAPAA’s information and support more accessible.
In the future, PAPAA hopes to introduce My PAPAA, an optional personal space where people can save useful information, keep notes and questions for appointments, and return to resources that are relevant to them.
My PAPAA will not be a medical record and will not provide diagnosis or treatment advice. It will be a simple way for people to keep trusted PAPAA information in one place.
My PAPAA: Will be your personal space for trusted personalised information and questions.
